He's Contagious

This is what joy looks like. Just my little boy and a balloon.

My exceptionally barren fridge prompted this unplanned midweek grocery store run. But his sweet innocent joy turned my zombie-like trudge through the store into a light meander as we perused the produce and diaper aisles.  It has been an exhausting few weeks... or 6 to be exact. Being a mom is a full time job. Medical school is a full time job. With my teammate aka sweet husband away for work, I am here doing my best and there is never ever enough time in the day. On this particular long day, I needed to laugh and laugh we did. Myles' laughter is contagious. His squeals brought smiles not only to my face but to every single person we encountered. Who can deny that little boy a smile as he fiercely shakes his balloon in one hand and waves to you with the other? No one can resist I tell you. He takes his balloons and his greetings very seriously.

I don't know what made me give pause to the balloons on this particular day... maybe I just fell sucker to their "ooo shiny!" marketing snare. However I do know that this was the best 3 dollars I have spent in a long time and I’m so thankful for my little human who can help fill my cup when I feel like I don’t have much left to give.

In other news: I have a one year old! He is walking and getting into everything. How is he growing up so fast? Can someone please just make time stand still?
